To perform a functional simulation:

1. If you have not already done so, create a new project or open an existing project.

2. Specify Simulator settings.

3. Use the Waveform Editor to create a Vector Waveform File (.vwf) that contains the vector inputs for simulation and the names of the outputs to be simulated. More Details

4. (Optional) Create one or more breakpoints.

5. If you wish, modify the initial content of a memory block (RAM, ROM, or CAM).

6. Run the simulation.  More Details

7. View the simulation results in the Simulation Report.
